Looking to become a Catholic? Looking to get to know your Catholic Faith better? Perhaps you haven't explored the Catechism since you were confirmed as a teenager? Join us for The Sacred Heart Faith Formation through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA).
Father Ralph Candy, leads our RCIA program. He brings a wealth of experience to this programme that guides, and helps create, fully formed adult Catholics.
Our RCIA classes will start in September, with great presenters, great discussion, and great reflection. Whether you are a Catholic and interested in deepening your understanding, or non-Catholic and seek to come into the Church, we encourage you to join us – we guarantee you will learn things about the Faith that you did not know!
Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings and will continue through the Autumn, Winter, and Spring in the Parish Hall. Discussions include Revelation, Creed, Sacraments, Tradition, Trinity, Grace, and many other topics. The class schedule is available here.
The calendar includes sylabus information and the topics that will be covered at each session. We use the New Jerusalem Bible along with the USCCB Catholic Catechism for Adults as our guides, supplemented with presentations and videos. Classes explore different aspects of the Catholic Faith from many different perspectives.
There is no obligation or pressure to become a Catholic. Some people learn about Catholicism in one year or several years before deciding to become Catholic, and some never choose to do so. Whether you are a seeker, a practising Catholic or a sponsor, your RCIA experience will be a source of knowledge and grace in your faith journey.
